Coorg Trek Karnataka

Coorg is a charming hill station in Southern Peninsula. Its famous for cool waster , green rolling hills and beautiful scenery. Coorg seemed like a little corner of England to the British. They left behind a legacy , which still an important source of National wealth. The well laid coffee and spice plantations in Coorg has earned it a distinction of Spice country. The trek passes through coffee plantation , dense forest and valleys full of fresh and aromatic smell. An ultimate destination for the sportiest is the Coorg Hills, which offer hiking, cross-country and motoring down mountain trails. The best season to trek is from October to the beginning of February.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi – Bangalore – Mysore (4 hrs/147 Km)
Morning after breakfast transfer to domestic airport to board in flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival at Bangalore airport and transfer to railway station for board in the train to Mysore Upon arrival in Mysore in the afternoon and check in hotel Overnight stay in Hotel at Mysore.

Day 3: Mysore - Madikeri (3 hrs/120 Km)
Morning after breakfast sightseeing tour of Mysore and later drive to Madikeri. Arrive in Madikeri. Explore Madikeri town relax. Overnight at home stay in Madikeri.

Day 4: Madikeri - Bisle Ghat to Mallali Waterfalls ( 6 hrs /15 kms trek )
Morning after breakfast drive Bisle Ghat for about 1.5 hours to reach our trek start point. Start the trek from a small village in the ghats and cover jungles, paddy fields, valley and streams to end at Mallali Waterfalls. Overnight Camping / home stay.

Day 5 :Mallali Waterfalls to Kumaraparvatha Peak (7 hrs /12 kms)
Today morning after breakfast we do a uphill climb to the peak of Kumaraparvatha , the third highest peak in Karnataka Western Ghats standing at 1712 meters above sea level. It’s a full day uphill climb on the eastern side of the Western Ghats, where we encounter a waterfall (take shower under it) and precede to the peak through mostly shola forests. Camp on the hilltop. Overnight Camping at Hilltop.

Day 6: Kumaraparvatha Peak to Kukke Subramanya (14 kms / 7 hrs)
Morning post breakfast we cross over to the western side of the ghats and a full downhill stretch through jungles and grasslands with beautiful views of the valley and forests on all sides. For lunch we stop at a small village house (the only house in the hills there) .Overnight camping at Kukke Subramanya.

Day 7: Kukke Subramanya to Vanachalu ( 20 kms / 8 hrs )
Today after breakfast, we have a totally jungle trail through the unexplored Kadamkkal reserve forest where chances of wildlife spotting are there. Pass through thick forests and some open grasslands and patches of rubber plantations. Arrive at our camping ground close to tea gardens and a waterfall. Overnight camping.

Day 8: Vanachalu via Nishani Peak (8 kms/3 hrs )
Morning after breakfast we do light trek of 8 kms . Have lunch at a village home and enjoy the waterfalls and camping. Overnight at Campsite.

Day 9: Vanachalu to Kallur via Ajimotte Peak (14 kms/6 hrs )
Morning post breakfast Vanachalu to Kallur passing through thicker jungle paths where we pass the Ajjimotte Peak. Campfire and Dinner. Overnight Tent Camping or Village Home Stay.

Day 10 :Kallur to Mukkodlu via Mandalpetty Peak (15 kms /7 hrs )
Morning after breakfast Kallur to Mukkodlu through thick evergreen forests and Mandalpetty Peak. Overnight at a village home stay.

Day 11: Mukkodlu to Thantipala via Kotebetta Peak (18 kms/8 hrs )
Morning after breakfast start trek to Kotebetta peak and visit Mukkodlu Waterfalls. Take a swim and shower under the waterfalls. Later trek to Thantipala for overnight stay. Overnight Tent Camping or Village Home Stay.

Day 12 :Thantipala – Kootuhole - Madikeri (10 kms /4 hrs )
Today morning after breakfast we trek through some jungle trails and mostly plantation trails. Reach Kootuhole and have lunch. Post lunch trek for about 2 hours to reach Madikeri town. By noon at Madikeri town. End of trek. Overnight at home stay in Madikeri.

Day 13: Madikeri to Bangalore (6 hrs/250 Km)
After breakfast we trek for about 2 hours to reach Madikeri town. By noon at Madikeri town. End of trek. Overnight at hotel in Bangalore.

Day 14: Bangalore - Delhi
Morning after an early breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to board flight to Delhi. Shikhar Travels’ Representative would receive you at Delhi Airport and take you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 15: Delhi Departure
Morning after breakfast transfer to the international airport to board flight for onward destination.
