Blue Lakes and Lunar Landscape Jeep Safari

Drive Past Blue Lakes & Lunar Landscape: A perfect Jeep Safari through the sandy deserts of Rupshu region. Breathtaking views of most beautiful lakes of Ladakh. Tso Moriri 4572 mt. Tso Kar 4485 mt. Tasang Tso 4200 mt. This region also abound in Himalayan wildlife like marmots, mountain goats, wild Tibetan foxes, Bar headed Goose, Great Crested Grebe, Brahmini Duck etc. TSO-MORIRI LAKE is one of the most breathtaking fresh water lakes in Ladakh. The lake is considered sacred by the locals. The Lake is surrounded by beautiful peaks like Mt. Mentok, Mt Kharlung, Mt Kurchu and Mt Lungser Kangri. Drive past many small villages and monasteries en route. Places on the way of this tour are Delhi, Leh, Shanti Stupa, Shankar Gompa, Lah Palce, Shey, Thiksey, villages of Nurnis, Kery, Kishar and Kadgam, Korzok Monastery, Chuma Thang, Sumdo, Tsomoriry Lake, Tsokar.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Met on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Leh
Early morning transfer to domestic airport to board flight for Leh (3505 mt). Met upon arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for Acclimatisation. LEH is the capital of Ladakh and is situated on the bank of river Indus.In the evening visit Sanker Gompa, Shanti Stupa and Leh Bazar. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3: Leh
Morning proceed for Indus Valley monastery tour. Visit SHEY PALACE - The monastery has a huge copper gilt image of Sakyamuni and the large silver lamp burning in front of the statue, THIKSAY GOMPA which is actually a complex of buildings on a crag rising in tire upon tier above the village. The temple was dedicated by His Holiness Dalai Lama in 1980 and houses an immense image of Maitreya Buddha in an unusual manifestation known as Chon-kor, most famous HEMIS GOMPA - Founded in 1630's by Stag-tsang-ras-pa under the royal patronage of Sengge Namgayl. Hemis is the is one of the largest and richest gompa of Ladakh and STOK PALACE AND MUSEUM - The Royal residence of the King of Stok. In the evening return back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Leh - Tsomoriri
Morning drive down to reach Karzok (4,572 mt) the only village near Tsomoriri Lake. The jeep safari via Sumdo is one of the most interesting as it goes through sandy deserts & rocky paths. Drive past the isolated Thasang Tso - a small tourquise lake which appears like an emarald of a queens necklace. Arrive Karzok by afternoon and set-up camp for overnight stay. In the afternoon, visit KORZOK MONASTERY with its dimly lit prayer halls.

Day 5: Tsomoriri
Day free to explore the Lake area and the village. TSO-MORIRI LAKE is one of the most breathtaking fresh water lakes in Ladakh. The lake is considered sacred by the locals. The Lake is surrounded by beautiful peaks like Mt. Mentok, Mt Kharlung, Mt Kurchu and Mt Lungser Kangri.

Day 6: Tsomoriri - Tsokar
Morning drive to reach Tsokar via puga by covering 75 kms in 3-4 hours. Tsokar lake 4485 mt is also called as white lake because of salt deposit around it. It is approx 45 kms northwest of the Tsomoriri lake. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 7: Tsokar - Leh
Morning drive to Leh via Thukje Gompa. Join Manali-Leh highway and drive down to Leh via Tanglang-la (5224 mt.) - the 2nd highest motorable road in Ladakh. Enroute drive pass beautiful villages of Rumtse, Gia, Meeru which stands like an oasis. Arrive Leh and check into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8: Leh
Day free. Evening proceed to see Folk dances of Ladakh. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 9: Leh - Delhi
Board morning flight to Delhi. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 10: Depart Delhi
Optional sightseeing of Delhi. Transfer to international airport in time to board the flight to onward destination.
