Kavery River: Originating from Western Ghats, Brahmagiri montains, 760 km long "Kavery River" is considered India's second most sacred river after The Ganges. The trek follows the Kavery when it enters the most interesting part of its journey through state of Karnataka. The trek passes through dense forest , deep gorges and valley. There are chances of seeing wildlife during the trek. Brahmagiri, is a mountain range in the Western Ghats of south India. It is situated on the border between Kodagu district in Karnataka state in the north and Wayanad district of Kerala state on the south . Brahmagiri Hill, at 1608 m height, is a scenic tourist attraction. The top of Brahmagiri Hill is well forested and has a lot of wildlife.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi - Bangalore
Fly to Bangalore. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Bangalore – The IT hub and 'Silicon Valley of India'.
Day 3: Bangalore - Shimsha - Bhimeshwari
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Shimsha by covering appox 110 kms in 02 hrs. Shimsha has a Thermal Power Station with picturesque waterfalls. Here Shimsha river joins Cauvery river. Arrive Shimsha and trek (12 km) upto Bhimeshwari, a fishing camp on the bank of the river. There are chances of spoting Wild Elephants and Sambhar etc. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 4: Bhimeshwari - Sangama
Morning after breakfast start trekking (20 km) to reach Sangama by covering appox 20 kms. Sangama is the conflueance of two rivers Cauvery and Arkavaty. The trek is easy as the path is almost flat. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: Sangama - Sunnadgedde
Morning after breakfast start trekking (12 km) to reach Sunnadgedde by covering appox 12 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. There are Limestone Caves and formations of diffrent shapes and size along the river. Overnight stay in the tents on the river bank.
Day 6: Sunnadgedde - Ugnya
Morning after breakfast start trekking (18 km) to reach Ugnya by covering appox 18 kms in 05 to 06 hrs. You would be boulder hopping along the river. You may spot Elephants and Crocodiles. You can feast on the Black Berries on the way. Ugnya is a small village on the edge of the river. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 7: Ugnya - Hogenakal
Morning after breakfast start trekking (15 km) to reach Hogenakal Falls by covering appox 15 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. Hogenakal falls atracts many tourists because of its pictureque location. One can take country boat ride here. There is an Botanical garden on the edge of the hill, which houses many varities of flowering and medicinal plants. Overnight stay in tourist bungalow.
Day 8: Hogenakal - Bangalore
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Bangalore by covering appox 260 kms in 06 to 07 hrs. Arrive and checkinto hotel for overnight stay.
Day 9: Bangalore - Delhi
Morning after breakfast proceed for half day city tour covering Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park, Birla Planetorium, Lal Bagh etc. Afternoon transfer to airport to board filght (departure 1955 hours) for Delhi. Met upon arrival (2225 hours) and transfer to International Airport to board flight for onward destination.
