Mount Neelkanth Expedition (6507 M)
Neelakant is a major peak of the Garhwal division of the Himalayas, in the Uttarakhand region of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Although substantially lower than the highest peaks of the region, it towers dramatically over the valley of the Alaknanda River and rises 3,474 metres (11,398 ft) above the Hindu holy town of Badrinath, only 9 km (6 mi) to the east.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi
Morning visit I.M.F. for briefing and to clear all the formalities. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Delhi - Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive (225 km )to reach Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-in the hotel for the overnight stay. Rest of the day free for leisure activities.
Day 4: Rishikesh - Joshimath
Morning after breakfast drive (270 kms) to reach Joshimath. Upon arrival check-into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6: Joshimath - Badrinath
Morning after breakfast drive (44 kms) to Badrinath. Upon arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 7
Day free for acclimatization.
Day 8: Badrinath - Charanpaduka
Morning after breakfast start uphill trek to reach Charanpaduka (3540 mt aprox) which is beautiful meadow above Badrinath. You can see the panorama of the Badrinath from here.The trek covers 4 - 5 km in 3 hrs. On arrival set the camp for overnight stay.
Day 9: Charanpaduka - Base Camp
In the morning after breakfast start trek to Neelkanth base camp(4270 mt) covering 6 kms in 2 -3 hrs.From the base camp you can get the close view of Mt Nelkanth (6507 mt).This pyramidical-shaped snowy peak is popularly known as the 'Garhwal Queen'.
Day 10 to Day 30: Base Camp
Stay at base camp and attempt peak.
Day 31: Base Camp - Badrinath
Morning after breakfast windup Base Camp and return trek to Badrinath. Upon arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 32: Badrinath - Joshimath
Morning after breakfast drive to Joshimath and upon arrival check-into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 33: Joshimath - Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-in to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 34: Rishikesh - Delhi
Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi and upon arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 35: Depart Delhi
Morning after breakfast visit to IMF for debriefing. Rest of the day free for independent activity. Later transfer to International airport to board flight for onward destination.
